For more than a decade, St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Geneva, New York has sponsored enrichment and development programs for the youth of the Finger Lakes. As a natural outgrowth of the work the church has done for many years, the Academy was established with the belief that the arts are central to personal growth, are an integral part of education, and provide a means of strengthening and building the community.

Each element of the Academy brings effective education in the arts to large numbers of people. The programs, although sponsored by St. Peter’s Church, are directed to and open to all in the area. While the Academy is an important part of the life of St. Peter’s Church, it is separate from the parish in terms of its day-to-day operations, its artistic development, programs and musical integrity.
