“A Classic Supporting the Classics” Join us on Saturday, Ocotber 20th, 2007 for the drawing of our 1961 Corvette raffle ticket. The raffle drawing will be held at 6:30 p.m. before the “Draw the Strings Tight” concert at St. Peter’s Church on 149 Genesee St. The Classic Corvette Raffle is to benefit the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy. “Draw the Strings Tight” is a classical guitar concert featuring, Dr. Ken Meyer. This concert will feature music from newly commissioned solo guitar works as well as selections from the traditional classical guitar literature. Dr. Meyer directs a thriving guitar studies program at Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music and at Hobart William Smith Colleges. He is a featured lecturer, performer, adjudicator and teacher at festivals, colleges and universities throughout this country and abroad. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music and has recorded for Albany Records. The concert will be held on Saturday, October 20th, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $9.00 for Adults, $7.00 for Senior Citizens, $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.

Open House – ‘Behind the Scenes Peek at the Academy’
Adults and children will surely find this interesting and inspiring. There will be a sampling from each of the studios. Students of the Piano Studio will tickle your senses as they give a brief keyboard presentation. Afterwards you will be dazzled with a song by the three children’s choral groups. Just when you think your ears could not handle one more glorious note… students from our Violin and Cello studios will string us along with a musical experience! Following the musical samplings—all are invited to gather in the Hall for refreshments, visual art activities and displays, as well as opportunities to meet the faculty and staff of the Arts Academy.

“Sounds of Christmas Concert” Celebrate the Christmas season with the choirs of the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy and St. Peter’s Church. The St. Nicholas, Junior, and Senior Community Choirs under the direction of Wendra Trowbridge will be joined by the St. Peter’s Church Adult Mixed Choir under the direction of MaryAnn Hamilton in traditional Christmas music that will be sure to brighten your holiday spirits. Make this annual festive celebration held at St. Peter’s Church a part of your family’s holiday tradition. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7th, 2007. Ticket prices are $7.00 for Adults, $6.00 for Senior Citizens, $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.

Strings Solo Recital this Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.
Suzuki Violin Instructors for the Arts Academy: Ellen Kogut, Julianna Methven and Loraine Schoenfield along with Cello Instructor: Jackie Wogick will be featuring their students. The public is encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee.
Approximately 30 violin and cello students at St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy will perform in a Solo Recital this Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. The students range in age from 4 to 55 and represent all different levels of ability, from beginner to advanced.

"Heart Strings" is a violin concert given by violinist, Julianna Methven and pianist, Troy Slocum. Julianna is a member of the Syracuse Symphony
Orchestra and an instructor at the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy. She is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Masters Degree in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. Her collaborative partner, pianist Troy Slocum,
is on the faculty of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and The St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy. The concert will feature two Romantic violin sonatas of Johannes Brahms and Edvard Grieg. The concert will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $9.00
for Adults, $7.00 for Senior Citizens, $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.

“The Newark Boys Chorus” Join us for a concert by The Newark Boys Chorus and their music director, Donald C. Morris. Known as Newark’s “Musical Ambassadors,” the chorus of 80 young urban men from the greater Newark area has been heard through out the world with a diversified repertoire that includes traditional classical music, spirituals, folk music, and jazz. The concert will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $12.00 for Adults, $10.00 for Senior Citizens, and $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.
Saturday, April 26th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
“Just “B” Natural” is a collaborative concert given by Soprano, Jennifer Sisbarro, and pianist Troy Slocum. Jennifer has joined the Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) and the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy (SPCAA) voice faculty in August 2007 and will be presenting her debut concert to the Finger Lakes region at this time. Her collaborative partner, Troy Slocum is also on the faculty of HWS and SPCAA. The concert will feature classical arts songs from composers such as Schubert and Hahn as well as jazz standards including songs by Fats Waller and George Shearing. The concert will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $9.00 for Adults, $7.00 for Senior Citizens, $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.

“Spring Sing” Join the choirs of St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy and St. Peter’s Church as they present their final concert of the season. The evening begins with a delicious Chicken Barbecue on the lawn of St. Peter’s Church from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13th, 2008. Tickets for the chicken barbecue are $7.00 and the children’s hot dog meals are $3.00. Concert ticket prices are $7.00 for Adults, $6.00 for Senior Citizens, $6.00 for Students, and Children under 12 are free.
